Þorr (Thor) is an often misunderstood God. Many of the stories about Þorr that have come down to us from the surviving ancient literature tend to portray him as a sort of celestial Joe Six-Pack, a "good-ole-boy" sort of God, incredibly strong and totally upright, but not to bright. It is hard to tell how Þorr acquired this reputation. The stories in question were, of coarse, all written down after the arrival of Christianity and that may (or may not) have had something to do with the slant or spin given to these tales. In any case, this may be a good time to start thinking about Þorr from a somewhat different view-point.

Hinduism began when the Indo Europeans of central Asia, who did not migrate towards modern day Europe, mixed with Asians. Before this, the Indo Europeans who stayed in Asia had a nameless religion with pictographs of a large man with a spear or a man riding a chariot on a hammer.
